Spider Monkey Films was born from the Silly Spider Monkey Fiasco, a college sketch comedy show produced at the University of Georgia from 1998 - 2003. At its height it was seen by literally dozens of people a day on the closed circuit dorm channel.

In 2005, much of the cast of comedians, actors, editors, animators, and friends moved up to Brooklyn and established Spider Monkey Films. They continue to produce original sketch comedy and videos for the web and for live shows like Channel 101 NY and the Adam and Trevor Show.
