Farewell, Rob T. Firely.

I got an e-mail tonight from Rob, the guy who made pod-six.net. Pod-six was the Sealab fan site, and it was one of the most comprehensive, interesting, and fun web sites I've visited. In a world where fans often feel like they have to be critics (and harsh critics, at that), pod-six.net reminded us that it's okay to be a fan just for the pure joy of loving something. Rob's site was funny and entertaining, informative, and, to me, encouraging, without a hint of cynicism.

Rob put an amazing amount of work into the site. He wrote and organized episode reviews, interviewed us, and, at times, he seemed to know what was going on in our lives and careers almost before we did. He took an early interest in Sealab, and that interest eventually extended beyond the show and to other things we worked on, like this little Spider Monkey thing we dabble around with. His encouraging posts and e-mails always brightened my day and helped convince me the work was worthwhile.

Now that Sealab is over, Rob is closing up shop at Pod-six. The Spider Monkeys are going to miss it, but at the same time, we'll be watching eagerly to see what Rob has in store for the world next.

"Moving to NY" DVD Sale

The box in my closet.I'm leaving Atlanta and moving up to New York this week to room with Trevor, and while I was cleaning out my closet, I found an unopened box of 93 Spider Monkey DVDs. We certainly don't have room to keep these things in our tiny Brooklyn apartment, so we have to clear them out fast. We're knocking the price down to 4 bucks. That includes shipping and everything. That's a savings of 8 dollars per DVD. Over two hours of collegiate spider monkey hijinks in a really nice plastic case. The case alone is worth a buck fifty. You can't afford not to buy a bunch of these right now.

And this is it. Once this batch is gone, they're gone forever!

Lightning striking six or so times.

We're on ManiaTV again. "Lightning Brains" will air at 10pm on August 12th, 13th, 17th, 22nd, Septempter 1st and September 7th. If you haven't checked out ManiaTV yet, it's kind of like MTV was back in the old days, but with comedy videos and much hotter VJs.
